Meet Fiona: 44 years old; teacher; avid gardener and dressmaker; invests in new sustainability projects - recently buying shares in a community wind farm; lives 10 minutes walk from the beach in Melbourne’s southern suburb of Elwood; Sold the second car and joined a car share service to save money and because she wants to get more exercise with her family; adores her husband (Bill), kids (Sally and Tom) and her chooks.

Surprising Fact: Fiona is famous for her home brewed ginger beer. Not even her family know her secret recipe!

Fiona Says: ‘I tell my husband and kids: first take out the recycling, put the food scraps in the compost and feed the chooks, THEN you can have today’s wireless internet password.’

The Heat is On: ‘Fires, floods and even tornadoes! I’m worried about the destructive weather events we’re having lately and the impact it could have on my family’s health…not to mention our safety!’
